I venture into a dreamland where I am playing a glass guitar
& there’s a raver by the pear tree at the far end of the courtyard

I sing the old songs to the dogs
& I’m afraid that they can see right through me

The branches are shown to me for my inspection
I will chop them down, to pay off the hit-man
But we have to wait, man, till all the black animals are gone
